This is a senior level job working in the State Treasurer's Office. A thorough knowledge of pertinent accounting policies and procedures are required in order to effectively perform required duties. This job requires advanced skill in utilizing computerized accounting systems. Selected candidate in this job will present and defend practices, and interpret complex reports; resolve, reconcile and adjust for special conditions; and assist in developing, modifying, or enhancing appropriate fiscal policies, procedures and practices. The candidate will research financial problem areas and exercise decision making in recording and analyzing financial data.
Reconciles monthly bank statements and reports.
Manages accounting activities of the Office's long-term investment portfolios.
Prepares correcting journal entries for upload into FINET.
Approves accounting entries in the State's Accounting system (FINET) .
Administers Office's Salesforce application and provides support to PTIF participants.
Administers access to the Office's online PTIF transaction system. (iPas)
Performs various Office internal control functions.
Identify data and information which suggest developing patterns of problems or complaints, from which general or specific trends and patterns can be discerned, suggesting a need for further investigation.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Preference may be given to those with a Bachelors degree in Accounting.
This is a career service exempt job. Candidates placed in this title are appointed, non-classified, exempt from 67-19-12, and are required to be placed in a position schedule of AC(Employees in Offices of Elected Officials per 67-19-15).
Knowledge of and experience with State's accounting platform.
Experience with completing monthly bank reconciliations.
Experience with accounting for investments including fixed income and equity investments.
Experience with the use of database systems, Salesforce experience preferred.
Experience in designing, enhancing, or implementing systems and/or subsystems that reflect the changing needs of an organization.
Competence with communicating information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; reading and understanding information presented in writing.
Experience with Identifying data and information which suggest developing patterns of problems or complaints. Investigating further as necessary and provide recommendations for remedial action.
